video tutorial: Improved Sprout Plant pattern
My sprout plant has been revised with improvements to make it more uniform and sturdy. What's new? The pattern is now worked in the back hump of foundation chain and it makes quite the difference! This revised, written pattern will be included in my Sprout Plushie pattern. It is also featured in my Stumpy the Tree Stump Plushie and 4-in-1 Cat Planter Pattern. Improved Sprout Pattern
ABBREVIATIONS USED
CH = Chain
FLO = Front Loop Only
FO = Fasten Off
HDC = Half Double Crochet
SC = Single Crochet
SL ST = Slip Stitch
INSTRUCTIONS
Begin: CH9.
To Work First Leaf: Turn foundation CH so that back hump is facing up. *YO, insert hook into the back hump of third CH from hook - to work a HDC. Continue working in the back hump of foundation CH across: DCx2, HDC,* then SL ST.
To Work Second Leaf: CH6 (note: video shows CH5 but that is incorrect). RPT from * to * of Step 2. SL ST in same CH as last SL ST made.
Working the back hump down remainder of foundation CH, SL ST x2, CH1.
You will now be working on the opposite side of the foundation CH: Working the FLO, SL ST in first CH of foundation CH. In FLO, SL ST. Move working yarn behind leaves.
Work a SL ST between the leaves. Working in the FLO of both SL STS on each side of stem, SL ST x3 down stem, SL ST in CH1.
Pull loop to make it a little larger. FO working yarn into an 6" to 8" strand for assembly. Insert the yarn tail into the loop. Gently pull yarn tail to tighten loop, sprout complete.
