Free carrot pattern and mod for chonky bunny plushie
With spring here and Easter just around the corner, you can make my free carrot pattern and best of all, attach this to my Chonky Bunny Plushie pattern for another level of cuteness or use it with your own pattern! I’ve included a mod for my Chonky Bunny Plushie pattern that makes the arms a little longer so it can hold the carrot, as pictured. My Chonky Bunny Plushie pattern is available here:

Free Carrot Pattern and Mod for Chonky Bunny Plushie
Recommended Supplies

Carrot - Premier Parfait Chunky in following colors (or similar):
1150-83 Carrot or 1150-15 Tangerine
1150-66 Sage
Polyfil
Yarn Needle
Long strand of thread or medium weight #4 yarn for sewing
Optional: A copy of myChonky Bunny Plushie Pattern and supplies to make plushie.
NOTES:
This pattern provides instructions for the following:
Carrot
Worked in continous rounds, do not join rounds.
Mod for Chonky Bunny Plushie for holding the carrot (This is optional or you can just make the carrot!).
Chonky Bunny Plushie Pattern is required and sold separately in my shops, linked in bio.
The mod is for the arms only. The arms are worked so that they are longer (in order to hold the carrot).
This is a beginner-friendly pattern.
Abbreviations:
CH = Chain
FO = Fasten Off
HDC = Half Double Crochet
INV DEC = Invisible Decrease
MR = Magic Ring
RND = Round
RPT = Repeat
SC = Single Crochet
ST or STS= Stitch or Stitches
Carrot Pattern
Make Leaves:
With green yarn, work a slip knot.
To make first leaf: “Work a MR and CH3. SC in 2nd CH from hook, HDC in last CH, SL ST in MR.”
RPT from to x2 to complete a total 3 leaves.
FO, leaving a 6" tail for assembly.
Make Carrot:
Begin & RND 1: With orange yarn, work 6SC into a MR (6).
RND 2: SCINC x6 (12).
RND 3: SC x12 (12).
RNDS 4 to 6: RPT RND 3.
Add Stuffing: Add polyfil to carrot, making sure not to overstuff.
RND 7:SC, INV DEC x4 (8).
RND 8: SC x8 (8).
RND 9: INV DEC x4. FO leaving a short tail for sewing. Sew opening shut (4).
Assembly:
Thread yarn tail of leaves onto needle and attach to top of carrot.
Thread a 6" strand of medium weight #4 yarn to needle. With the carrot faced sideways, attach to center of plushie, as pictured.
Mod for Chonky Bunny Plushie Pattern
Make Plushie
For Body, Ears, and Tail: Follow instructions provided on Chonky Bunny Plushie Pattern.
For Arms, use mod below (make 2):
With yarn and hook size of choice, work a slip knot leaving a 6" tail for assembly.
CH6, HDC in 2nd CH from hook, HDC x3, SC x2, FO leaving a 6" tail for assembly.
Assembly:
Attach Ears and Tail and Add Nose: Follow instructions provided on Chonky Bunny Plushie pattern.
Arms: Starting with any side of choice and working in rnds 12/13, attach first arm to the side on plushie so the tip of arm touches the carrot. FO, weave ends. Thread a short strand of thread or medium #4 yarn to needle and sew tip of arm to carrot. RPT from to with remaining arm on opposite side, making sure it aligns with first arm.
