Fishy fidget pattern video tutorial

When I saw these crochet fish fidgets on my feed, I knew I had to design my version, which also came with lots of trial and error. My original pattern did not have the correct length nor hook size so the end of the hair barrette kept popping out; Of course, I didn’t realize this till I was 6 or so completed fishy fidgets in. Anywho, I’m going to give lots of prop to my unofficial fidget toy tester, my son. Don’t get me wrong, as someone who loves his fidget toys, my son was no easy critic! It took me about 4 or 5 versions of this fishy fidget before he gave his “stamp of approval.” For this pattern, I ended up going with 2 sizes (short or long) since I couldn’t make up my mind of which version I liked more.
What I like about this pattern is that it works up quickly, and because you are using the multicolored yarn for the fish’s body, there is no need to keep changing colors. However, if preferred, you can use a solid color yarn for the body. This pattern can also be made without the “fidget” (or hair barrette) to be used for plushie bag charms or keychains.

Recommended Supplies For Fishy Fidget Pattern
Worsted weight #4 medium acrylic yarn in following colors:
Color 1 (face, tail and/or fins): White, cream, light gray, any solid light color of choice.
I used for this pattern: Cream
Color 2: Any multicolored yarn of choice.
Yarns I used for this pattern:
For Long Fishy: 2.7" Hair Barret
For Short Fishy: 2" Hair Barret
Options for Eyes (choose one of the following options):
1 pair of 5mm safety eyes (this is option I use for tutorial)
Small amount of black crochet floss to embroider your own eyes
Small amount of black felt cut into small circles
If using this option: You will also need fabric or hot glue to attach eyes to fish
Scissors

Optional:

Pattern Notes:
This video/pattern provides instructions for the following:
Long Fishy Fidget
Short Fishy Fidget
This pattern is worked beginning with the head to the tail.
Rounds 1 to 16 are worked in continuous rounds (do not join rounds).
The tail is worked in rows.
Right Side Facing Out: The side in which the beginning yarn tail is not coming out. If right handed, you will be working counter-clockwise.
This pattern uses the yarn under method, which is typical for amigurumi patterns because it produces a tighter finish compared to yarn over.
A comma indicates to work in the next stitch.
A "x#" indicates to work given stitch in each of the next “x” number of stitches; For example: “SC x5” = Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 5 stitches.
Special Stitch Reference:
Puff Stitch (PS): YO, insert hook into ST, YO, pull up a loop x4, YO, pull through all loops, SL ST to close PS.
